Oh, and check the natural rocky shoreline above the Natatorium, which is exactly how Kaimana Beach/San Souci Beach would look if the Natatorium was removed.
Save the Natatorium!
This is so cool! I use to swim at the Natatorium when I was little. My father taught me how to dive off the tower. I was one of the few that would dive off the very top tower. All the boys that weren’t scared to go all the way up would just cannon ball off the top. Some times the tide would get so high that manna rays and sharks would swim over the wall into the pool and they would have to shut it down until the life guards could um out. There use to be a beach concession stand where you could get the best plate lunch and teri burgers and an old Filipino man use to sell boiled peanuts outside the entrance that were so ono! That was a very long time ago. I moved to Kona and the Natatorium was shut down after that. I am in the mainland now, so it was really wonderful to see these photos! Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories! Aloha, June http://www.squidoo.com/bigislandofhawaii
